I've always loved flowers, but ever since discovering the art of paper floristry, I find myself drawn to them in a way I never experienced before. They bring me a deeper sense of joy, curiosity and appreciation.
Perhaps it's because I am getting older and my children are older, so I have more time in my life to truly notice their beauty unfolding around me, but honestly, I think it is something deeper than that. The art of paper floristry has not simply taught me how to make crepe-paper and paper flowers, it has changed the way I see nature. Not to replace it, but to be inspired by it. To notice the delicate folds of a petal, the movement of a bloom, the magnificent abundance of different colours and textures.
Through this art form, I have developed a deeper appreciation for flowers and the natural world. Every bloom I study, every petal I shape, and every creation I make reminds me that nature is full of endless inspiration and for that, I am incredibly grateful.
My workshops are an extension of that and not simply about learning how to make a flower. They are about slowing down in a busy world and reconnecting with your innate creativity. We are all creative on some level. It's about discovering the joy of working with your hands and experiencing the quiet satisfaction of creating something you never imagined possible. It's not to replace real flowers, but rather a new way of reconnecting and appreciating nature.
Sometimes the greatest transformation is often the one we cannot see. It is all about connection.
Connection with nature.
Connection with creativity.
Connection with ourselves.
And perhaps most importantly, it is about discovering that within each of us there is the ability to create something beautiful - sometimes all we need is the right material, the right guidance, and the space to let that creativity bloom.
